Costume, Prop and Location Planning

http://www.flipsnack.com/EdenMc/grunge-fashion.html

For my music magazine, I would like to use a "grungy" style as it fits in well with the colour theme and the rock/punk genre.
Also, I think the grunge style with fit in well with the location as it involves a lot of greens, blacks and browns.

I like the "indie" style, however, I'm not quite sure if it will fit in with genre but it may fit in well with the dark colour scheme.

For my double page spread, I would like to use a location such as a forest. I chose this idea as I live close to one and I think it'll make the page stand out well and make it look more interesting than a regular bland background. I would like to use guitars as props to make the page look more eye catching.

How many music magazines are on sale?
We have around 4-5 different music magazines on sale right now.

How many different genres of magazines are on sale?
We have rock, pop, indie and punk. Like Kerrang!, Q, Top Of The Pops, Mojo, Uncut.

What is the positioning of the music magazines in the store?
We usually put our best seller in the front, like Kerrang! and usually put the ones that don't sell as fast in the back.

What part of the magazine is shown the most?
We always makes sure that the front cover is shown the most. This way, it'll grab the attention of the audience and it'll help them find the magazine they are looking for. We obviously don't put the contents page or the back of the magazine on display because the audience won't know what the magazine is called.

How clear is the name on the magazine? Is the price clear?
We make sure that the name on the magazine is as clear to the audience as possible. The price is usually either on the magazine or is placed below it. We make sure that the audience can read the price but we don't make it as eye-catching and obvious as the magazine itself.

What do you notice about the positioning of the major artists? Can you discuss the eyes and why these are important?
Well, the major artists are always the most eye-catching thing on the front cover. Either their body or their face takes up the whole page. As for the eyes, people always say that "the eyes are the windows to the soul" and I guess that's true. In music magazines, they always make sure that their eyes are always looking at you, no matter where you go and that's how they grab your attention.
